My half of a traditional art trade I did with my friend, excellent artist and unicorn *euclase. She suggested an Avengers theme since I've been on such a kick recently. Superheroes are cool.

Here's the awesome drawing I got from *euclase, also in pencil:

Steve Rogers, the first Avenger! Always thought Captain America had the silliest costume, but they really managed to translate it well in the film. Ref from this promo image: [link] I drew nearly half of this on a long airplane ride with the tiny ref photo on my iPhone, haha.

Various graphite pencils (2B-6B) on Canson drawing paper, with a bit of sepia pencil for the red highlights. Dimensions are 9x12 inches. WIP here: [link] another image: [link]

I agree with you. They did a great job with his costume in the Captain America movie, but the new costume in Avengers was too bright and colorful. I hope they transition back to a more darker colored costume for Captain america 2 and Avengers 2

I have really been enjoying your work- it's so lifelike...
Very good Captain America by the way, really captures 'noble', 'patriotic', 'courageous', and 'willing soldier'- the dedicated naivete he has as well.
He looks younger than he did in the Avengers movie, was that on purpose?
